What to Expect with RF Microneedling
Preparing for Your Treatment
All patients who want to schedule RF microneedling will need to complete a consultation to ensure they are a good candidate for this treatment. At your consultation, we will discuss your goals and formulate a treatment plan specific to your needs. We’ll also recommend optional skincare pretreatment and take pre-procedure photos. Additionally, we’ll provide you with topical numbing cream to apply one hour before your scheduled RF microneedling appointment.
During Your Session
On the Day of your appointment, arrive at your scheduled time with your numbing medication still on your skin. We’ll clean and prep your skin before starting your treatment.
Next, we’ll explain the device and process for your specific treatment and begin your RF microneedling session. Most sessions take around 20-30 minutes but may take longer depending on the size of your treatment area(s).
After Your Treatment
Afterward, your skin may look red and feel warm and tender. The redness typically dissipates within an hour or less. We’ll provide post-treatment instructions to help ensure the best results possible. While most people will be able to resume their normal activities by the next day, it’s important to protect your skin from the sun immediately post-procedure. Over the next few weeks, you may start to notice subtle changes in skin tone and texture. Keep in mind that it takes up to six months to see the full results of RF microneedling because your new collagen and elastin need time to grow.
To ensure the best possible results from your RF Microneedling treatment, we recommend avoiding alcohol and blood-thinning medications before your appointment. It's also important to arrive with clean, breakout-free skin. Please inform our nurse if you have any medication allergies or have experienced reactions to similar treatments.
